| Introduction |
| Keebra Park SHS is a public school offering secondary education to girls and boys in Years 8 to 12. As a smaller High school of 750 students, Keebra Park offers students an individual pathway to Year 12 and beyond. Distinctive features of the school include a comprehensive ESL Unit, special needs unit, broad range of academic subjects and vocational opportunties, Rugby League Pathway and accelerated learning opportunities from Years 8 to 12. |
| History/Special Features |
| Keebra Park SHS first opened to students in 1973. A school of excellent academic, cultural and sporting performance, Keebra Park has strong traditions and people friendly learning environments. Long a bastion of Rugby League which still flourishes, the school prides itself in persistently excellent academic results. Good teachers and respectful relationships personify the learning experience at Keebra Park. Students are able to select either an academic or vocational pathway to Year 12. School Based Traineeships are available to students in the senior school (10, 11 and 12) and many subjects have embedded in them Certificate qualifications. The middle phase of learning in Years 8 and 9 is served well through an individualised program which focuses on optimising core key learning area outcomes for students. For gifted students of years 8, 9 and 10, the Plus Pathway provides an accelerated learning program in Science, Maths and IT to complete three years of study in two. This pathway links with extension opportunities in Years 10, 11 and 12 including a University Chemistry subject. New fields of specialisation are available in Rugby League and Triathlon across Years 8 to 12. |
