| EQI Gold Coast was established in July 2002 to directly service the international student marketplace in Gold Coast State Schools. Key objectives include internationalising local school communities, promoting a global perspectives and developing a range of new and innovative education pathways for both local and international clientele. |

| EQI Gold Coast Office is situated in the heart of Varsity Lakes district adjacent to the internationally recognised Bond University and Varsity College middle and senior school campus. This office supports international programs in schools located on the Gold Coast. |

| * Intermediate * Upper Intermediate Education Queensland's Secondary School Preparation Program (SSPP) is an intensive English language program designed to prepare international students for Queensland high school studies and is undertaken prior to commencing high school.
SSPP provides international students with an opportunity to practise English communication skills and learn the vocabulary used in high school subjects, such as Science, Mathematics, English, Technology and the Arts.
Through interaction with Australian high school students and direct access to qualified high school teachers, students not only develop their language skills but are also much more likely to develop the learning skills necessary for success in high school and tertiary studies. |
| Admission Requirements |
| International Student Programs are designed for serious, competent and committed students who provide evidence of success in their overseas studies prior to application. Education Queensland International places great importance on the student's ability to study successfully in English. Students who have limited English proficiency may be made an offer to enrol in an International Student Program on the condition that they first successfully complete a Secondary School Preparation Program (SSPP). |
| Enrolment Procedures |
| The student completes the application form identifying their preferred course and school. The student attaches the necessary documentation as indicated on the application form. The application is then returned to EQI either by fax, email or post. The application is assessed and those students who meet entry criteria will be forwarded a Letter of Offer. Subject to enrolment conditions that may apply the student will indicate acceptance of Offer by returning signed documentation (usually signed by parents). Upon receipt of payment EQI will issue an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) so the applicant may apply for their student visa. |

| Accommodation Facilities & Costs |
| Most international students live with an Australian family in homestay accommodation. Homestay provides students with an excellent opportunity to learn about Australian culture and lifestyle. Living with a family also helps students to improve their English language skills. Students find that when they join in with family activities, they easily adjust to living in another country and their experience of the Australian lifestyle is that much more enjoyable. |
