English Australia was originally formed in the early 1980's (as the ELICOS Association) and was incorporated in 1990. EA's membership comprises 108 colleges representing 132 NEAS accredited centres. English Australia member colleges can be found in all States and Territories. English Australia member colleges can be private or public. They can be independent or attached to a high school, TAFE college, private vocational provider or university. They can be small boutique colleges or large international providers. English Australia aims to establish a high professional and ethical standard in the work of member colleges, assist member colleges in providing high quality educational programs and assist, strengthen and promote the interests of the ELICOS sector and member colleges. English Australia has four main areas of focus: * support and promotion of quality English language training and support services; * representation and lobbying both in Australia and internationally; * profiling and promotion of member colleges, the sector and Australia; * provision of a comprehensive range of membership services.
